Directed and Choreographed by Minda Nyquist, SEUSSICAL, JR. is based on the works of Dr. Seuss. In this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza, Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant and The Cat in the Hat. Seussical, Junior celebrates the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community, in a story that makes you laugh and cry. Seussical, Junior, is a Li’l Broadway series production. Performing December 16, 17, & 18 at 7 PM and December 18 & 19 at 2 PM. Ticket prices $6 / $11. Suitable for the whole family.

In this adaptation by Kristin Laurence we again live, laugh, love and cry with Meg, Jo, Amy and Beth as they go through the many trials and tribulations that have made this story a classic. A Junior Studio Workshop Production. Performing November 15 & 16 at 7 PM in the Schmuckal Studio Theatre at the Old Town Playhouse. Tickets: $6. Suitable for all ages.

Take It From the Top visits in August

Take It From the Top is a series of interactive workshops taught by working Broadway professionals who have a passion for providing training and perspective for those interested in pursuing a professional career in musical theatre as well as those just looking to have fun with performing arts.  Participants learn the craft of musical theatre with basic to advanced skills, industry history and practical content in an exciting, fast-moving, interactive setting.

Everyone is a student of the arts and can find their own unique voice through music, dance, and theatre.  Take It From the Top offers participants a chance to experience Broadway with the pros.  Learn, work and sharpen your skills in a creative and fun environment.  If you ever wanted to be on a Broadway stage, now is your chance to perform and pick the brains of the people who are doing it!

Take It From the Top is being presented by the Wharton Center for the Performing Arts and Old Town Playhouse.  The four-day Musical Theatre Workshop is being held at the Playhouse Augst 3rd - August 6th.  Pre-teen workshops take place from 10a.m. to 1p.m. and Teen workshops from 2p.m. until 5:30.  A 7:00 p.m. recital is scheduled for Friday, August 6th.  Tuition is $250.

Pinocchio available for touring Fall 2010

PINOCCHIO 

The TCCT Repertory Company will tour our musical adaptation of the pereninal favorite by R. Eugene Jackson and David Ellis.  Pinocchio runs 45 minutes and can be performed in your cafeteria, library, meeting room or auditorium.  The play is treble-cast with just 5 actors playing all of the roles and performances can be scheduled for school days, after-school or weekends.  For booking information and fees call Mychelle Hopkins at 947-2210.  Suitable for pre-K through grade 5.
